I had a CT scan this morning and ever since then I have had a lot discomfort and gas. I drank the usual liter of barium and had a Buscopam shot just be fore the dye injection. I have had a CT scan before, but did not feel like this after.....any suggestions?

do you have a stricture or partial obstruction or is it just gas? try taking gas reducing meds if you think thats what it is.

Thanks for the reply, I have had lots of gurgling and bloating in the last 6 months, and I believe that's what the surgeon was hoping to determine with this CT. But I will try the gas reducer. Thanks!

My stomach is usually a bit upset after contrast. Just keep an eye on it - if pain or other side effects get severe, call your dr.

Thanks, I forgot to mention the diarrhea, it hasn't really stopped since 4 hours after the scan lol.

I think that's totally normal. I always had bad diarrhea and gas pains after CT scans with the contrast that I had to drink. It might last a couple of days. Drink lots of fluids and easy to digest foods for a couple of days.
