Thank you everyone for the replies. I don't understand why my doctor would prescribe it if it doesn't work ugh well I'll see how it goes, I can always switch medications if I don't see improvement. Many GIs prescribe it for Crohn's even though it was never approved to treat Crohn's. They do this because of wishful thinking, believing that since it helps UC, it should help Crohn's as well. But research shows it doesn't help Crohn's any better than a placebo does. Many doctors don't keep up with that research.
