In 2007 I was diagnosed with CD in my colon after having two massive fistulas and explosive D and pain in my side. GI insisted I go on humera or I will loose all my colon and be on a bag. I did my research and opted to get another GI more conservative and to try the SCD diet.
I changed my diet 100% to follow the SCD with fanatical dedication and after 7 months, both my fistulas were healed, I has no more D or pain , and I felt great. Three years later after no symptoms I had a colonoscopy and they found absolutely no active signs of CD in my colon or intestine. Last year I had another colonoscopy and again , no signs of anything. It was as if I had never had CD. The doc said the only thing he saw was some scar tissue from my fistulas, but nothing else.
To this day I still follow the SCD diet, but not as strict as in the beginning. I am 67 and besides curing my CD, the diet has helped me in other ways too. My cholesterol is 179, triglycerides are 80, blood pressure is 115 /69 and I take no pills for anything.
Research the diet, if nothing else is working, what do you have to loose.
