Just curious. During my loading dose I had almost immediate, positive relief from my symptoms. After my first maintenance dose, I had a flair. Now they want to double my dosage. I've read online that that's an option, but this quickly? I'm starting to feel like they have no idea what they are doing...

It’s not uncommon for them to do that. When you’re in remission again they will cut down again.

Mak is correct, it can sort of jump start things, depending how you respond the dr can either dial the dose back or leave it.

Interesting. I started my loading doses of Humira in January. Started feeling better, more energy but last week of Jan got very sick, spent a week in bed and missed my Feb dose by a week. Haven’t felt good since. My doc also started weaning me off prednisone and that messed with me bad. Mood, anxiety, blood pressure, loose stools again so he re-upped prednisone temporarily. Wonder if I should ask to take extra Humira instead? I have begged to get off steroid but didn’t know getting off is way worse than being on. I don’t want to go on methotrexate to replace prednisone if it doesn’t hold me as doc said.
Do most people have to take another med in addition to a biological? I had thought Humira was a last resort & answer to it all but seeing lots of posts about
multiple drug combos.
Diagnosed with Chrons Ileitis with rectal involvement. Internal hemmroid, pre-cancerous polyp biopsy. May 2017.
Continue to have elevated CRP levels, low grade fevers.
Currently taking Humira, Prenisone, toprol xl, Dyazide, trazodone for sleep-doesn’t help much.
Didn’t tolerate Uceris, Pentasa, Sulfasalazine.
Previous surgeries : gall bladder removal (1996), RN-Y (2005), partial hysterectomy, c-sections

Wildbluewonderchic- yes a lot of people take something like Azathioprine along with their biologic but I would talk to your doctor about
weekly shots instead of bi weekly.
