Feel hungry all the time

Well, the reason for your hunger is pretty obvious, imo - you are actually physically hungry. But just to rule out another obvious cause, you're not on steroids for your Crohn's are you? 'Cos pred will give you the appetite of a ravenous wildebeest.

It could be malabsorption - depends on where the Crohn's is and how severe it is. But you also said you were unable to eat much, so it's probably simple hunger too. I've had that loads over the years. Starving hunger whilst at the same time suffering from pain, fever, nausea, etc. I did lose a lot of weight too, although eventually put it all back on when I became steroid-dependent and on pred nearly all the time.

Is mesalamine the only med you've been prescribed? Unless you've got very mild disease - which, with a weight loss of 90lb, doesn't sound like it - then mesalamine probably won't be strong enough. I mean, you could always try it and see, but if you don't see a significant improvement within a few weeks, do ask for something stronger.

OC, I think I would look into a different gi, waiting until December to be seen is not good. You need a dr that has the time & interest in taking care of you.
