Safe to drink Coca Cola on prep day?

I'm having my colonoscopy on Friday and today is my prep day. I'm done with solid foods and from here on out its all liquids baby!

Am I allowed to drink Coke? They say not to drink anything with red dye, not sure if thats in Coke.

Billo, my dr said clear stuff only the day before. I never drank cokes, sprite, ginger ale or 7up. You can always call & ask his nurse.

Isn't ginger ale clear? I called my dr and said no coke but yes to ginger ale.

Yes, sorry I was not more clear about the ginger ale. It was allowed along with the other 2 soft drinks. I drink it quite a bit, tends to settle my stomach.

I would say yes its ok to drink ginger ale. Hope things go well with your scope

No on orange gatorade, it will contain some red dye in it.

hey stray, I've done orange gatorade the last 2x, and didn't get any complaints from the GI and his office mgr said today it was OK.

But today I went with lemonade gatorade

My colonoscopy prep instructions said that yellow and orange drinks were okay, but red, blue and purple ones weren't.

Always annoyed me that, as it ruled out all my favourite flavours :-(
