Bowel stricture but not Crohn's disease?

I started getting bad stomach aches in 2015, but 2017 a weird 'lump' that was hard and uncomfortable and never goes away formed in my upper left abdomen, where I had most of my stomach pain. After years of negative CT's MRI's colonoscopy endoscopy etc my doctors finally agreed to a diagnostic laparoscopy where a stricture was found where I feel the lump. Is it possible to have a stricture without crohns?

Yes it is possible to a stricture & not have crohns disease. Now that the stricture has been found, what does the dr plan to do next?

What was the composition of the stricture? Did they say whether you had inflammation there or scar tissue? Either would indicate that you might have some type of bower disease that led to it, although maybe gastritis or ulcers could lead to this as well.

the surgeon said he did not remove it because I guess the stricture didn't look that diseased or whatever it is from the outside and he said until I go to my GI and figure out what is causing the stricture not to remove it.. which just sounds dumb to me. I'm just hoping the stricture wasn't a coincidental finding and the painful lump is something that was missed. I'm paranoid for the win!

Where in the bowel is the stricture? I assume small intestine, but where in the small intestine?

Did the surgeon estimate how big it is?

It's in my jenjunjm or whatever lol he didn't say how big I just am not sure if I should feel this giant hard mass inside me cause of a stricture it doesn't sound common

I agree with you that it seems a bit weird that the surgeon didn't do something about the stricture while he was in there. Unfortunately, in my case strictures seem to be pretty frequent.

When do you see your gastro again? Are there any other test that he can do? Not having a proper diagnosis is so paranoid making. I'm so sorry that you are having such a hard time of it.

You can live with a stricture. It depends on the symptoms though. Are you having regular bowel movements? Passing gas without issue? Do you ever feel nauseas, or actually throw up? If they're not going to resect it, then how are they going to treat the pain it's causing?
