Possible alternative to Remicade

I have been on Remicade for 13 months and as far as my Crohns goes it has been working great, no inflammation on last colonoscopy. I was on Humira previous to that and developed fairly severe muscle pain and after a colonoscopy discovered that Humira was not working anyways so switched to Remicade. Now I am developing muscle pains again only much worse. This started six days prior to my last infusion and every day got worse. It got to where I could hardly walk. Within an hour of starting my infusion the pain started to decrease and by that evening was totally gone. It is now three week into a six week cycle and the muscle pain has started already. On top of that my doctor's office called today to inform me of my latest blood work. My anti body level is high and even though I am on a six week cycle there was no Remicade left in my system. I have an appointment to see my GI next week and the nurse told me to think over my options to be ready to talk to the doctor.
One option is to go to a four week schedule of Remicade. As much as I like Remicade I can't see where going to four vs six weeks will help much. Seems like sooner or later the muscle pain will return.
The other option is to switch to Entyvio or Sterlara. I've done research on both of these and really cannot see where one is better than the other.
Has anyone experienced muscle pain while on Remicade and switched to either of these drugs with good results (or gone to something else)??

If you have to transition to a new med, I would second the previous recommendation for Stelara. Stelara has been getting very good reviews, and is the only new drug that seems to rival Remicade in effectiveness. Hope you get things worked out soon.

Does anyone know if Stelara helps pay Medicare people? Remicade stopped helping as soon as I went on Medicare

Your drs office I am sure got approval otherwise you would not be starting it. We do have a member that posts here from time to time & Medicare pays for her Remicade.

Ms Poopsy, google Remicade's website. They have 3 different contacts listed that may be able to offer financial assistance for Medicare recipients. Remicade is an infusion not an injection. Do you have regular Medicare with a supplemental plan or is it an advantage plan? You can double check with your drs office to see if you will have any out of pocket expense.

MsPoopsy, since you have the supplemental policy you should not have any out of pocket expenses provided your yearly deductibles has been met. I always make sure any dr or hospital accepts Medicare Assignment. That means they will not bill you for anything except what Medicare allows for charges. Do you know where you will be getting your infusions?
