So, I'm dealing with my second peristomal ulcer. The PA and wound care nurse are at a loss as to why it isn't healing. They feel it might be due to Stelara, they have another patient with crohns that is on stelara who has the same issue. Anyone out there who has similar issues? Not even with an ulcer but has anyone noticed slower healing while on Stelara?

I has an ileostomy in July while still on Stelera. I had a 6" incision and 4 incisions of 1" each all on the abdomen. All healed without issue and in normal time according to the surgeon and ostomy nurse.

I also developed an allergic reaction the first five wafers they had me try. This caused a variety of small ulcerations under the wafer area. All those healed when a wafer was found that I wasn't allergic to. Also I used a powder and skin barrier before applying the wafer. Those healed quickly but they were not deep.

I'm sorry you are dealing with this. Also, is everyone sure this isn't the result of contact dermatitis?

Yes, it's pressure ulcer from me trying to use a convex product. I've found a product that works (non convex) but now have to get the dang ulcer to heal up.
