I began my Stelara infusion on Thursday, February 9, 2017. I have Crohns of the ileum with perianal fistulizing disease. I am starting this thread to begin a diary of where I'm starting from, my meds, my supplements, my symptoms, side effects and progress.

If you have questions, please let me know I am more than happy to answer. This post is just to setup the blog. I will fill in the details later.

Wow. I was just about to ask if anyone else was using Stelara for fistulas. My GI is awaiting info directly from the company as well.

Looking forward to your updates.

I just got approved by my insurance company to restart Stelara via an IV. Stelara worked pretty well for me at 90 mgs every 2 months. I'm hoping by restarting via an IV that it will work even better for me.

ks---what are your current symptoms? Do they think you have CD now? I've been on humira for 6 months. reduction in fistulas but haven't fully closed on quadruple dose. Sorry about the hip replacement.

I have pouchitis, I guess that you could call it CD because it is technically inflammation of part of my small intestine. It is controllable by antibiotics but I keep getting Thrush from the antibiotics; so ABXs are not a viable long term treatment for me.

Current symptoms are trouble emptying my pouch and sometimes diarrhea.

I started Stelara before the FDA approved it for CD so I was NOT given the loading dose via IV. It was a very small loading dose compared to what I will get now.

I've been off of Stelara for almost 6 months due to my hip surgery. I'm not sure if I've built up antibodies to Stelara.

@U B Tough - I came across this thread and noticed you listed having vulvodynia related to IBS. I also have that, recurring. I was wondering if you found a treatment that works.
