Hi DBrookenz, that's really good news dude.
From what you describe I reckon that the drainage you have is not pus.
It will stop at 4-6 weeks, not before (at least that was the case for me). As the drainage slows down, try to gradually place your gauze further out from your sphincter.
In regards to the pain I did get pain during the healing period as well (and still do feel some pain every now and then). Yes the Flap is not as invasive as fistulotomy, but it creates a wound and makes the area more sensitive. For me it still feels sensitive and will never be 100% again. The area has been altered..
Some gas can escape involontarily, it happens to me as well, especially if I have a bloated stomach, during the morning prior to bm. You can call this I guess a very minor incontinence. Also, when I have to "go" I really have to go.I've had this since post my fistulotomy. I am just so grateful to God that this is all that it is, because it could have been a lot worse.
