Older data says that about 70-80% of people with Crohn's will have at least one surgery. Many need more than one surgery.
But that data was collected before biologics became so commonly used. They may improve the numbers substantially, but then again, they might make only a small difference. To be determined...
As for me, diagnosed about 12 years ago after 20 years of on/off issues. No surgeries for Crohn's, but many surgeries for other things.
