A Sellers: IVIG saved my leg from amputation and myself from an early death! It was only supposed to help with the PG but a happy effect was that it tacked my UC as well. I was able to go back to work etc after a 3 year hiatus. Then with the fistulas in Aub 2016...my diagnosis changed to CD. Tried entyvio, humara and finally Stelara. I hope it works for you. What are your symptoms? I also tried hyperbaric oxygen which seemed to close the RVF but didn't help the rectal fistulas.
Please don't misunderstand, I'm very grateful for remission. Over the last year I've been travelling and am able to do more than ever! Just the heavy weight feels, well heavy and my body shape is bothersome. I'm really loving the freedom from anxiety and the ability to just go out.
Surprisingly, I heard from my co-ordinator; she said that it's possible that my once starving cells are now being overwhelmed by nutrients/fats and my metabolism may not be working 100% yet as I'm used to constant purging.
I'm glad to have the binge eating over but today I feel so weak. Had my injection yesterday and am really starving today. I have ballet tonight and should burn 500cals if I'm well enough to go. I can see how dieting can lead to yo-yo dieting as today I just want a meal, carbs, etc, not junk food, just a really good meal. I often find I'm hungry after treatment as I feel weaker than usual.
there is a zumba class on the weekend, I'll try it but on a slower pace. The boot camp was overwhelming as there wasn't a warm up and I don't think it was suitable for the +40 crowd who has never done a sit up before.
I've looked into WW's but I don't think it's suitable for a gf diet. I still can't eat salads, nuts and grains, although an apple and PB is the most wonderful thing ever
I'm finding calorie counting rather eye
opening. A restaurant size steak could be 1/3 of your daily caloric intake, but now I know to have a 3 oz steak. This is probably good advice for everyone.
Seashell; this terminology is new to me. Does this mean that I should only be consuming 1366 cals/day, under normal, non dieting circumstances in order to maintain a healthy, steady weight? Sorry for the confusion, averaging 6500 steps, save the last 3-4 days with a snow storm and frigid temps.
