Autoimmune Hepatitis

Saw my GI yesterday and after two liver sonograms and a slew of blood work . My GI sems to think i have autoimmune hepatitis. He will be scheduling me for a liver biopsy . Has anyone else been dx. with this ? If so would love to hear about it.

AuntKay, so sorry to hear that you may have something new to deal with. I used the Custom Search feature at the top right & found posts in the Hepatitis forum about this. So, if you are interested in reading those posts they will be easy to locate.

According to what I read in those posts, along with what I read at Mayo's website, prednisone & Imuran are used to treat. Hopefully once the biopsy is done they will be able to give you a solid diagnosis & to what extent the disease is.

I read your post but can’t offer much. My liver enzymes have been running high, but I’ve not been sent for tests yet. Waiting to see if it persists. All I know is my doctor said we are prone to a few liver things. Sorry that’s all I can share but hoping things go well for you.
