Good evening all. It's now March 2019 and everything is still the same. I did a cleanse in November then started another gluten free/vegan diet. In February the rectal bleeding started again just like before when I was on the special diet last time. Recently I was feeling so weak and achy that I went to the emergency room. They found an intussusception in the upper left of my small intestine. They say it is transient because there was no blockage but I hadn't eaten in 24 hours and before that I was eating light because of the bleeding. I went to the GI with the CT results and she dismissed it as nothing because there was no blockage. What should I do

Time for a new GI, or at the very least, a second opinion. The good thing is, you'll be able to bring the recent CT results to another GI, so you won't have to wait for repeated diagnotics. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Sorry to hear you are feeling unwell! I agree with 73Monte. May be time to chat with a new doctor. It can be a frustrating process (waiting for an appointment, retelling your whole history, etc. ) but sometimes a new perspective is needed. Best of luck to you.

Thank you for your responses. I took the CT results to a new GI and she ignored them saying it was transient and then began requesting tests that I already had in 2011 and 2013 with the previous 2 GI docs

Those are pretty old tests, I think the GI is right in ordering new ones.

I don't have a problem with doing tests but I went for a specific issue and she didn't even read the results or discuss what could cause an intussusception in an adult. I want my life back. 8 Years and I'm no closer to a diagnosis than I was the first time I walked into the first Drs office

I think the new gi is doing the right thing by ordering new tests. I would think once all of the testing is done the dr can make the appropriate diagnosis. I know you are wanting the Ct addressed & perhaps once the tests results are in the dr will go over everything with you.

I did a little reading at the Mayo Clinic's website, if you like to read they have some good information there.
