What other options are there other than Remicade? Had immediate infusion reaction today

Started a flare up more than 10 days ago. Saw my GI on Monday and he was worried and ordered a CT enterocolonography. He pescribed Ketoprofen + Hyoscine Butylbromide injections upon need to control pain. Yesterday, I did both the trough and antibodies test. Today, I took the pre-medication prior to the infusion. I was given dexamethasone + Pheniramine maleate injection. The rate of the infusion was very slow as my GI recommended. During the infusion, the doctor accelerated the rate a bit but it was still slow after more than an hour and a half and left. All of a suuden, I started to have chest pain and skin rash. I slowed the rate and called the doctor. They gave me 2 other injections: Pheniramine maleate + hydrocortisone. The infusion lasted for more than 3 hours and 15 mins.
After I finished, I talked to the doctor who said that this might have happened while she was adjusting the rate, it was for a second very fast.
Don't know. Waiting for infliximab trough + antibodies test results. That was my last chance. My GI said if you get any reaction this time, this means that you developed hypersensitivity to infliximab.
What is the next step? Stelara? How effective is it since I was on another biologic? Does it control symptoms quickly or does it take months? Remicade took 9 months to puts things at bay.

Thank you, 73 monte. It seems that Remicade has stopped working. Yesterday night, I statred to have skin rash. I texted my GI and he recommended I take dexamethasone injections today and tomorrow. Before I took the injection, the skin rash suddenly disappeared and the severe ileal pain returned. It seems that the 2 steroid injections I had yesterday could control my abdominal pain and once their effect wore off, pain returned.

Exit 4, hope the new med gets more effective and all your symptoms improve and not only 50% of them. Well, both the infliximab trough and antibodies test showed that my body did not develop any antibodies against Remicade. So, what's the cause of the hypersensitivity I got two infusions in a row, idk. I will discuss this matter with my GI before nexr infusion.

Rootsmith, thank you so much for replying to both threads. My GI informed me in my last visit that the coming infusion will be the last chance for Remicade. He said I have to take pre-meds, and the rate of the infusion should be very slow to the extent that it could last for 4 hours. He said that if I get any kind of reaction for the third time, he will stop Remicade right away. I argued that my trough level is very good and I nearly have no antibodies but he refused and explained that any kind of reaction means I can't tolerate it. Keeping my fingers crossed things will go on well next infusion.
