What would you do - surgery again

I'll try to be brief - recently had surgery for a seton placement. Like my surgeon a lot. Had surgery with her 3 years ago. She has a good relationship with my gastro. This time, after 2 weeks, the seton came undone. I was able to hold it together until the following Monday where she saw me in office to re-tie the knot. It came undone after 2 days. I was and am quite angry, as when the knot came undone the second time, the string came out and now I have to have surgery again. I called her and expressed my anger. I expressed my anger to my gastro-doc. He told me I had to have it again and that there were 6 colo-rectal surgeons in the area that he knew could do the surgery and that she is the only one he would recommend. I told him I would not have the surgery unless or until the pain/swelling came back in my cheek. It's back. I need to have surgery. My last surgery was about 8 weeks ago. So, I think I'm going to call my surgeon and schedule surgery and require that we have a discussion about how she intends to secure the seton and why she believes this will not happen again. Or, I could just try to find a doctor in a neighboring city. I live just outside of Atlanta so it's not like there aren't a million colo-rectal surgeons, just apparently none that my gastro knows outside of my immediate area. What would you do - devil you know, or devil you don't know? That's my question.

Along with straydog's comments I'd add that you have a perfect right to ask your surgeon what went wrong and how it might be different this time.
