Got the Moderna vaccine today

I live in one of the retirement communities in Markham, Ontario Canada. I'm supposed to get the second booster shot 28 days from now. Have had crohn's disease since April 1997 when I nearly was poisoned to death. A double resection back on May 27th 2013 for crohn's of the small intestine. Have only taken herbal medication since my operation. I'll post if my crohn's gets better or worse in the coming weeks. I'm covered by OHIP. At age 65 everything is covered for free in Ontario. I'm 62 and will go back to the GI in 3 years as everything but the dispensing fee will be free. I had a near total blockage thus the need for surgery back in 2013. The surgery should have been done in 2008.

Glad that you were able to get the vaccine. Moderna does seem to be easier to keep stable. I'm in Ontario as well, and the supply issues on both vaccines have been a big concern. I think the Provincial government has done a good job considering so much unpredictability with dealing with the virus.

Congratulations! I bet it feels a bit like winning the lottery. How are you feeling now?

I go in next week for the Pfizer vaccine. A family member had a pretty rough time with the 2nd Pfizer shot so I am alittle concerned yet optimistic.

Please let us know how you are doing and how shot 2 goes.

No flu like effects. I was ok then about 4 minutes after I got the vaccine something just hit me and then my face started sweating and I nearly fainted. about 5 minutes later I came out of it then was alright. I think it was the first vaccine I ever got in my life at age 62. I'll let you know about the booster shot. I was sitting down and leaning back at the time it hit me after I got the vaccine. I didn't eat anything as they showed up early in the morning when they were supposed to show up at lunch time. We were supposed to wait 15 minutes after the shot before we could leave. Other than crohn's my health is and was very good.

I've read the same thing on the internet about the 2nd shot. For me it was like my mind froze 4 minutes after the first shot. Never encountered anything like that ever. They took my blood pressure and it was 123 over 83 and someone pricked my finger to get a blood sample. I've sometimes had issues getting needles but it was when getting the needle not after getting the needle. I think I'll just keep walking around for the 15 minutes after I get the booster shot.

I had my first vaccine this morning...Pfizer. They aren't giving us a choice where I live. (I don't think anywhere in the US-but I could be wrong) So far so good. Will post how the booster goes.

I'm ok no flu symptoms or anything else. I get the booster shot in about 3 weeks.

Ok All,
To those of you that have gotten your booster can you let us know how that went....and which vaccine you got?

I still haven't had anything. Arm wasn't even sore after 24 hours. But...my niece took the booster for Pfizer and she is ill. Chills..Fever..puking..Ugh. Both nieces (around 37 to 40 yo) have been ill like this. My nephews... nothing. They are all in front line medicine.
So trying to prepare myself for round 2.

I had the Moderna vaccine on Wednesday, no side effects. I'm scheduled for the follow-up vaccine for next month.

I've had both doses of Pfizer. Zero side effects from either. I'm now 10 days out from my second dose and feel so grateful! I work in Healthcare and have been back in the office since May. I also am the sole caregiver to my 76 year old father who has Alzheimer's. He gets his second dose of Pfizer next Tuesday!!!!

I finally feel like I can breathe.... with my mask on of course smile

Had my 2nd Pfizer vaccine this week. I had just a little bit of a sore arm. A tiny headache. That's it.

I don't know if I should breathe easier or not. They state that when your immune system is building immunity you can not feel well...so if you feel ok after the vaccine does that mean it isn't working as well for you? Hmmmm.

Got my second Moderna shot February 10th. No side effects, I was perfectly fine after the second shot. We were under lockdown at the time.

@73Monte - 100% disagree with you on provincial response. If you're on ODSP you're starving to death, told to "get a job" and received no pandemic support. Both the feds and the province are in violation of the Charter and UNCRPD. Dougie took a restaurant tour in the summer rather than put together a pandemic plan ; killing 1000's of disabled people. I'm surprised especially as a disabled person you'd plug that timbit.
