High ACSA (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) antibodies

Hello all,
my immunogist find on my last two lab lests high ASCA antibodies. However, I do not have any intestinal problems that indicate Crohn's disease or Ulcerose colitis.
Fact is, I had a lot of atbx in last for Lyme disease treatment, I had some intestinal problems, but now, three years ago I feel by gut best in years. I did lot...Specific Carbohydrate Diet and many beneficial things for gut.

I find in my probiotics culture Saccharomyces boulardii - is it possible that the antibodies would cross-react?

Can you help me? Is it worth the increased antibody to deal with it when I feel okay with my gut?

Why did the immunologist order ASCA antibody tests? (I think you meant ASCA, but your post says ACSA?)

There are two types of ASCA antibodies that are sometimes checked - iGA and iGG. Do you know which were checked and which were high?

In any case, these antibodies by themselves don't mean much. Their clinical significance is not well understood. In people with Crohn's, they're frequently elevated (but not always). But they're also sometimes elevated in people who *don't* have Crohn's. In other words, their specificity isn't high for indicating Crohn's. As for their relationship to UC, there's practically no connection there.

If you were having GI problems AND had the elevated ASCA antibodies, it would warrant further testing (fecal calprotectin, maybe a colonoscopy and/or MRI). But if you're not having any GI problems, the ASCA test being elevated just doesn't mean much.
