Lately my Crohn's Disease is acting up for no obvious reason. I have lots of gas, gas pain and bloating for the past 2 days. No diarrhea. But when I sometimes pass the gas, there is mucus that is also coming out. So in order to keep my brief clean, I have to sit on a toilet to pass the gas, which is very inconvenient. Does this happen to you? How do you manage it? Thanks

Hi Paul, sorry to hear about this. My first thought, after what you have been through this past year, this doesn't surprise me at all. I seem to remember awhile back you were having trouble with gas. Great news there is no blood. Mucus, once in awhile shows up & usually stops after a few days, this has been my experience.

When I have gas issues, it seems to happen in the morning after I get up moving around. I remember many, many years ago while in the hospital I had horrible gas pain, the dr told me to get up & walk in the hall. I did & it helped a lot.

Keep an eye on things & hopefully this will stop. Take care.

Thank you, Susie. I have taken Phazyme for two days in a roll, as such, my gas volume has decreased significantly. I still feel some discomfort for some trapped gas in my belly. I also tried some moderate exercise. It is a lot better, but not completely normal.

Crohn's disease activities can act up and then decrease for no obvious reason.

Has your diet changed recently? Does the gas feel like it's more in the stomach or the intestines?

No, I did not change my diet recently. I feel the gas is primarily in the intestines. I have better days, and sometimes the gas gets worse. Yesterday I had my second shingles shot, and I am experiencing the side effects (fever, body pain and loss of appetite, etc.). It is worse than the Covid shot.
