Hey everyone! I'm back. And pregnant again lol. 27 weeks along with kiddo #4.
This last week I started having some vaginal pain that I figured was related to my recto-vaginal fistula (which I got back in 2012 and is just this tiny little pierced-ear tunnel that is completely healed around it).
Sometimes after sex, stuff will get inside the fistula, then it aches the next day and eventually a small lump of mucusy stuff comes out and we're good. I haven't worried about it, because it's been happening for so many years, and the CR surgeons I've mentioned it to haven't been worried either.
Gas will pass through sometimes, but stool never does unless I'm doing a colonoscopy prep (we all know how watery that gets) and I'm trying to make it to the bathroom. It'll drip through a little.
But the last 3 days or so, it's been aching as if it's clogged, but we haven't had sex before that (I'm too tired and worn out, this pregnancy has been a lot more exhausting than last time).
I had my regular OB appointment today and asked if she'd just check to make sure it wasn't abscessing or anything. She said it didn't look angry, but there WAS fecal matter coming through (and I saw the swab, bleh). She wants me to see the CR surgeon, but I couldn't get in until December 8.
I'm hoping maybe it's just getting a tiny bit bigger since things are shifting and pressure down there is different, but a small part of me is kind of freaking out. The last abscess I had burst on the inside and made me septic and I almost died. Being pregnant just makes that more worrisome.
I know it's a long shot, but anyone have any advice or words of encouragement or experience for me?
Thanks!
