Hi all,
I just called my doctor today and they said they need to see me in-office to confirm that they are hemorrhoids and not something else. Very discouraging because I can't see them until next week. In the meantime, they said to keep using the rectal suppositories.
I think they are external. They are starting to feel better, but still bleeding, pain, and itching. I am having diarrhea at the moment, and then switching to constipation, so I do not want to try a stool softener until I'm back to constipation.
As far as otc topicals, I find icy hot helps for about an hour. A heating pad also works for about 15 minutes. But sometimes my pain is so bad those don't help for long or don't help at all, and I get in so much back pain I'll cry or be unable to move.
I have been on Entyvio for about 2 months now and had two infusions. My next infusion is next Thursday. I am also taking Prednisone, but I'm almost done with that (two more days and tapering off currently). My doctor hasn't said anything about the negative side effects being directly related to Entyvio.
I'm a bit discouraged because everything is happening so slowly, doctors don't seem to want to help, and I'm still so uncomfortable. It effects my relationships, and that's the worst part.
I am going to a support group tomorrow evening and am really looking forward to that.
