Hey all,

Anyone here on Rinvoq experience elevated liver enzymes during the loading phase? My liver numbers jumped up recently and I’m worried that I’ll have to stop Rinvoq. It’s working well so far. Don’t have any medication options left really.

I checked in the archives & found nothing, have not read about anyone having this happen in the UC forum either.

When you say elevated, how much past the normal number?

How much longer do you have to go with the loading phase? My first thought is once you are put on the maintenance dosage your numbers will go down.

When do you see your dr to discuss your labs? I'm sorry this has happened but try not to stress.

When I wrote this post, my bilirubin was was 1.9, AST was 97 and ALT was 60. I just had another LFT two weeks after those numbers. Bilirubin went down to 0.8, but AST went to 114 and ALT went to 85.

It’s really stressing me out. I have 13 days left of the loading phase. My Crohn’s is better than it has been in a long time and I’ve failed every other medication. I’m hoping the levels will go down to more normal levels when the dose is lowered. Thanks for checking!

So sorry to hear that. I still have almost two weeks to finish the loading dose. My GI ordered a panel of liver tests and lipid profile alongside the inflammatory markers. My GI told me that it is one of the common side effects of Rinvoq to have elevated cholesterol levels though I have always had normal ones. Same as you, it’s my last resort as I have failed both Remicade and Stelara.
