Antibiotics Help UC

Hoping you guys might help a bit as you’ve been so helpful in the past.

Bit of background.

I’m currently on Infliximab infusions every 6 weeks- all going well.
Had a lap surgery for endometriosis in April to remove a large cyst.
Following on from this I picked up impetigo (actually had it before surgery but thought it was a cold score) Went to GP prescribed me flucloxacillian for a while was slow to heal as my immune system is probably very low. As it wouldn’t fully heal and GP reckoned I had an underlying virus around the lip/ mouth area he prescribed Doxycycline for a month to fully clear it as he reckons skin issues have been kicking off impetigo! Skin is looking good on antibiotics since Wednesday 22nd May. However I’ve started having diarrhea since Saturday 25th (no blood) but extremely worried that my UC is kicking off. I am also feeling a bit anxious lately aswell- will contact my GP soon.

Anyone got any insight would the antibiotic be kicking off my UC already? I take probiotics everyday and the previous antibiotic was fine with me- PS I HATE being on medication especially antibiotics but impetigo was utterly vile!

We can take antibiotics as long as we take probiotics with them. Antibiotics destroys the bad & good gut flora. My gi has me take Florastor which is OTC. If I were you I would get some now & start taking it to get balance in your gut.

You may need to increase the probiotics dose. When I'm on antibiotics, I take Florastor 4x per day.
