There's probably not a direct connection. Diverticular disease hits about
half of all people as they age past 50-60, but often is asymptomatic and causes no problems. The biggest contributing factor is lack of fiber in the diet. In that sense, a lot of CD patients avoid fiber in fear of obscructions, so it may be marginally more likely for them . . . but I doubt that there's anything about
Crohn's itself that makes us more likely to get diverticulosis.
