I'm just curious. Would the people who are or were on 6-MP tell me how much they took and what their weight is? If you don't want to tell me your weight, that's okay. I'm just trying to figure out if my doctor gave me too much and if it is possible to go back on it if necessary at a lower dose. I really don't want to go on Pred and I'm trying to keep all my options
open.

Hi Vicky,
I weigh 110 lbs and I'm taking 75mgs. However, the side effects are so bad my doc sent me in for tests due to suspected bone marrow suppression. Even though my blood values came out okay, he's still going to take me off of it and put me on Humira.

50mg, 5'11", 210 . . . no side effects. I have seen posts here from people who had leuk
openia or other side effects at 75mg and dropped to 50 and the problems resolved.

My son is 6'1 and weighs 155 pounds. He is taking 50 mg daily although his doctor says for his weight he should be on 100 mg daily. He tried taking 100 mg daily but his liver enzymes went off the chart so it was cutback to 50 mg daily. They sent off bloodwork to Prometheus and that showed that even at a dose of 50, it was working perfectly.

I'm 5'9 130. I started at 50mg but went to 75mg. 100 was too much on my blood work. Although weight it part of it, I think the blood work is the best way to get a theraputic level though. was on the 50 a long time and 75 about
a year. Never any side effects, even at 100. My lab results were always all over the place though.

Thanks everyone for you replies. At the time I was about
240 and when he upped my dose to 150mg was when I developed all my problems. Within 4 weeks I was in isolation with bone-marrow failure for 11 days. He didn't order the prometheus test until I was in the hospital and it said I was borderline to be able to tolerated.

My Dr. measured the level of this drug in my body, because everyone metabolizes it differently.I have been on this for a lot of years, and could never really tell if this was helping me or not. But when my doctor increased my levels to where they should be- i started having some liver problems(found in my blood work)
I now take 1 pill a day- 50 mg, at one time i was up to 300+ a day.
