Hi awatt,
I am not sure what Granola is, we don't eat (or drink?) that in my country.
I have been reading your post again, and I am wondering why you use all those medication while you are in remission? Are you still tapering off of the entocort? I understand that pentasa be used alone or with a steroid (like Entocort), but LDN is not supposed to be used with any steroid. Except when you use a small dose prednisone, like 5 mg a day or Entocort at it's lowest dose, just before you taper off it. But usually those two are contraindicated.
So, be careful with big doses of steroids with LDN.
I have red that a lot of Crohnies really should find out if they have a sort of gluten intolerance or gluten allergy. New science shows that gluten intolerance is found in the intestines even if the tests don't show it. (Researches shows gluten sensibility while they have examined pasients during endoscopy)
Maybe you are one of those having this sensibility?
I too have a stricture in the TI, and I have started using LDN four days ago. How do you feel by using LDN? I think that the pain you have in your LRQ is due to the stricture. Even if the inflammation is in remission, and the intestines in general is in good shape now, if there is a stricture, there is still a stricture - and this one will make you feel pain now and then when you have been eating something that have trouble passing it.
So take care by avoiding long fiber food. Chew your food well, drink a lot of water while eating, or sip the water is better. Also: avoid seeds, popcorn and unpealed fruits and strawberries. Vegetables: cook them close to soup like....
Have a nice day,
from Ingrid
