I've been having terrible side effects usually during the week of my injections. I've been taking it since June & started with the side effects in the last month or so. anyway, its been immediate sore throat after the injection, getting worse as the week goes on. Also, the joint pain has increased along with chest congestion, & now I'm battling eye inflammation. My lower back is definitely better but thats about
it. Last night I laid down in bed to read & had trouble swollowing, it got so bad, I started freaking out & had to go to the ER. I told the receptionist what was happening & I thought it was an allergic reaction to the humira, 1 - she "no your not if you took it last Tuesday, 2 - she proceeded to ask me all my personal info, name, etc. I understand that part, but, I couldn't breath & it just pissed me off. Then the nurse lectured me for 10 minutes about
smoking. If it was so easy to quit I would have years ago. Anyway, they took a brain scan to rule out a stroke & then admitted me. Gave me benydryl but it didn't help. It did get better but not all the way. The doc let me go home if I could eat & keep down my lunch today. Which I did. There were so many isolation carts in the hallways for rooms on that floor I just wanted to get out of there. The doc let me go & I was told NOT to take humira anymore. I'm going for an outpatient
cookie swallow this week. But, the doc really thinks its my sinsus reacting from the humira. I kind of agree now. After my bad, bad reaction to remicade months later I had to have sinsus surgery which they think was side effects from remicade, however, months afterward the doc who performed surgery, skipped the US on vacation & left his wife alone & he was never found. Only to find that he had been planning it the entire time. My point, another bout of sinsus issues, not only from the humira, but, the 1 st surgery was probably never done, just looked like it was, many law suits against his insurance. Sorry so long. God Bless
