Anyone know an Excellent Doctor in Atlanta Area?

I am looking for another GI.  I went to the one that has been treating me since I was 15 and now 34. I want a doctor that knows what he's doing and will not do any procedures that not necessary.  Please let me know what you think.

I posted a reply and now don't see it. Dr. Critelli at Altanta Gastroenterology is wonderful. And there are a number of doctors in the practice who are national crohn's experts doing research, etc.

I just switched to a doc at Atlanta Gastro - I've only seen him once, but I liked him. Dr. Brandenburg.

I've heard that Dr Douglas (??) Wolf is very much liked by all his patients and have never heard anything but good about him. I believe he is also at Atlanta Gastro but could be wrong on that.

Questions about these Doctors mentioned- Are they genuinely there to help? Do they think you're a junkie if you ask for s/t for pain?

I go to Dr. Sitaramin at Emory. I prefer female Dr.'s, I think they are more sympathetic. Dr. Rutherford is at Emory, she's good too. I have only seen her when I'm in the hospital. I don't have a lot of pain normally, so I don't know how they are about pain meds.

Dr. Robin Rutherford is excellent. She takes a lot of time to listen and specializes in Crohn's patients. She's the Clinical Director of the Digestive Disease clinic at Emory. Dr. Douglas Wolf is also excellent. He specializes in IBD and is extremely smart an up to date on new treatments and proceedures. Both are members of CCFA and very dedicated. I know them both well.

Dr. Brandenburg also mentioned about is wonderful. has a great nurse too. I think you'd be happy with all of the above. Can't say enough good things about them.

Dr. Rutherford would probably take the most time with you. All are difficult to get in to see for first appointment so don't let that discourage you.

Dr Critelli is def. there to help. She is very compassionate. When I got out of the hospital she gave me her cell phone number to call if I had any major problems. I never used it but that made me feel like she really cares and has great "customer service" which to my opinion is pretty rare in the medical professions these days.

I'm in the Atlanta area and have been using my gi for about 3 years i'd have to say he's about avarage as far as gi's go. He will not rx any pain meds but i guess i'm lucky don't have alot of gut pain.
