I have both c and d. When I do have C it is really bad and I have really bad pain and swelling. Sometimes I get impacted and it has a distinct crohn's smell stool that I have had since this all started. When it gets impacted it feels like a huge mass even in my vaginal. This is very descriptive I know but we get like this on this forum and it my help understand this fistula thing as well. I have been wondering why I have C with D back and forth. When I have C and it gets bad it sometimes hurts so bad I can barely walk.

i havent been able to poop in 4 days and diariah sounds nice about now

I have mostly D, but deal with C every once in a while.  I eat black licorice or licorice tea and a lot of fruits and vegetables to deal with the problem.  Apparently, black licorice acts the same as cortisone, but without the side effects of a steroid.  I googled licorice on the net and found this out.

I was diagnosed 1-1/2 years ago and I'm on my third flare up.  This one was the worst, but treating it with Prednisone.

I too have constipation and it seems to be an unusual symptom but not unheard of.  My doctor is also confused.  He put me on Sorbital 70% to regulate the constipation and it seems to be helping - hopefully not making the Crohn's worse.

I'm closely watching what I eat (which is not much) during this flare up because more than anything I want it to get in remission and try to maintain it. I wouldn't wish my best friend OR worst enemy with this disease!

Does anyone have any information about Crohn's and constipation?

I usually have a :-) but these days am sad .
