Hey everyone on LDN, how do I approach my doctor into prescribing me LDN? What worked for you?

I'm buying mine from riverpharmacy.com (which is located in India). This does not require a doctor's prescription, but you can legally only order what is considered a 3-month supply. However, that is based on 50mg pills, and once you cut these pills into 1/12 doses, 90 pills (a 3-month supply at 1 pill per day) would in fact last 3 years. Since you're new to this, you might just want to order 30 pills (that would last 360 days at 1/12 dosage).

The pills are 50mg. Here are instructions for making it into LDN:

It's actually easier than they make it sound. First of all, I bought a pill splitter, so I split each pill in half. That way, I only need to cut the half pills into 6 doses. I do this by dissolving the half pill into six teaspoons of water. Then I take 1 teaspoon and put the rest of the mixture into a small bottle and keep it in the refrigerator. I take 1 teaspoon a day for the next 5 days, until it's all gone. Then mix another half pill for another six doses, and so on. Don't forget to shake the bottle before taking a dose.

If you follow the above instructions, each dose will be 4.17mg.

Remember, you are supposed to take it at night, just before bedtime. It's less effective if taken during the day.

I use LDN. Got my diagnos this summer. Used prednisone, but when I tapered, almost all my symptoms returned. Started LDN. Wake up the next day, and had a painfree day. This has continued now for almost 4 weeks. I know it's early to tell anything, this could be placebo or that I was supposed to go in a remission then, but it COULD be that LDN works this well for me. Then it is a little miracle:-)
The medicin must be taken between 9 and 2 p.m. and regularly each night. One often start with 3 mg. Increases the dose after a couple of weeks to 4.5 mg. Don't take more than that, it won't work then! If you are using prednisone, entocort, remicade, pentasa or humira, you can't use LDN. It's contraindicated. LDN won't work then. If u use pain killers (narcotics), you can't use LDN.
Please use yahoos group to get support and information. They can guide you to doctors and pharmacists, if you have trouble with your GI. But please, it's best to ask your GI at first. Copy papers from the gazorpa link below, and read it to learn more about LDN. Then you also are prep for GI visit.

I got mine from Dr. McCandless. She may be in Africa now/she's doing a trial on LDN for HIV in Mali. She did a remote consultation and had her pharmacy in Savannah, GA ship me the drug, already as Low Dose form. If you are persistent, you should be able to find a doctor to prescribe you the low dose form, so that you have control over the filler and don't have to brew your own. It's nice that that is an option, though.
