Hi I'm 29 and was dx in 4/02. I currently have no symptoms from cd and have not been on any medication for about 3 years. My new problem is recurrent uti I'm afaraid that I might have a fistula has anyone had this problem?

Welcome Lexilynn,

It's possible that your UTI is from a fistula, but many have a problem with urinary tract infections who don't have Crohn's, so it may be unrelated. Have you had gas come through the tract? That's a good indicator for a fistula, or at least for me it was (vaginal). Also you may see traces of liquid feces coming from the tract, but it may be harder to see when diluted with urine.

Welcome to our CD family Lexi! Unfortunately I don't have a clue about the UTI problem you are having so can't help you with that, but I do hope you get answers soon and you start feeling better. Please take care of yourself.

I have had about 35 UTI's since high school and I don't know what causes mine either. I have bad kidneys though because I get kidney stones really easy too. Try drinking lots of water and make sure to use the bathroom after sex. The doctor thought that was the reason I kept getting mine. Good luck to you. I know they are really painful. And cranberry juice helps.
