rash symptom while taking 6mp

Hi,
I have been on 6mp for about 8 months now. Recently they changed my dosage to 50 mg from 75mg. And I just developed this pimply like rash on my chest, neck and little bit on my arms. It is kinda itchy but not severe. THey suggest going off the 6mp for a bit to see if it will make the rash go away.

Has anyone had this problem and what was your solution?

Over the last few months I've had a red blotchy rash come and go, usually on the trunk of my body or under my arms. I thought it had something to do with the Humira, but turns out it has something to do with my stress levels. When I really, really start freaking out I get this rash. It hangs out a few days and then fades away. I had a dermatologist look at it and he took a biopsy and said it's perivascular dermatitis.....just a rash. Mine, however, did not itch. He did give me a cortisone cream or something that helped it clear up quicker.

Have you gone to a dermatologist? I also thought it was the supplements I started taking. Though when I stopped them it still happened. It took a while to see the connection with my freakout days and the rash. I think the thing about rashes is trial and error, unless you get the biopsy to rule out other causes. The only way to see if it's the 6MP is to go back to 50 or stop and wait and see.

OMG i have the same thing. I started at 50 mg 3 months ago, then about 6 weeks ago switched to 75, and just 2 weeks ago switched to 100. The rash became noticable about 6 weeks ago Its my entire chest, neck, and upper back. Its hard to see unless the light hits it just right but boy can you feel it by touch. Its gross! I have been trying to figure out what it was from. Im also on remicade so i thought that could possibly be it. Also, i started a new soap about 2 months ago so i was looking into that. Normally my skin is not senstive to soaps tho. I just mentioned it to my doc and this is how he put it..."Your immunity has changed from all that youre on so you could be affected differenlty by certain things and maybe your body is just reacting to something like soap." I dunno. But i told him the second it goes to my face, which im afraid its creeping towards, im off all meds!

Hmmm

I am going to docs today. SO far the suggestion is to go off the 6mp and see if it goes away. I too started a new fabric softener, but don't think that is it. I will though wash my next batch of clothes w/out it.

It is spreading and may go near my face....hmpH!  I will try to remember to tell you guys what the docs says.

Ok.

So my Docs today told me it looks like an allergic reactin kind of rash. They don't really want to take me off the 6mp because it is working. So thety told me to wash my clothes again w/out the softener. It kinda makes sense because the rash appeared after I wore the clothes with the softener. Of course they said if it gets worse, to come back. Sent me home w/a cortazone cream. Yippee!
