just curious, but even when i have normal poop (not diaherra) i still get the bad cramps before having to go. That is the only constant with me. Once I go I am fine, of course, if I have to go diaherra then the cramps come back over and over. Other than the cramping pain and some joint and muscle pain that comes and goes I am fine. If i'm not in a flare then what is causing the pain. By the way I am sure I don't have any narrowings so that isn't it and my last colonscopy about
6 months ago showed up okay.

The gas partly, for sure. I don't think its just that, but I really haven't got a clue as to what else..

i get gas pain separately too. But when the cramping comes, i can just lay back and feel the pain as the poo moves down. then i gotta go. But like i said, it's with formed poo too, which sucks cuz it doesn't really matter how i have to go it hurts.

Sorry can't help you on this one. I am wondering the same thing myself. I get that same pain before I use the bathroom no matter if its D or not. Ask your GI to find out for sure.

The inflammation...the nature of the beast, usually when people have a stomach virus with D, they get painful cramps, likely from the spasism going on with the intestines having D come rushing out.

After seeing the granuloma (cobblestone appearance) of the small bowel on an X ray, I'm surprised there isn't more pain. Because it looks pretty bad on the film, so am assuming the inflammation itself makes it sore.
