Help with diagnosis

My GI doc. is sending me for tests and I'm nervous so I was hoping someone could help me understand if this sounds like Crohn's or what else it might be?Below are my symptoms and when they occurred, so if you could help me understand if this might be Crohns?

Late June I had several mouth sores that lasted about 1.5 weeks. They went away and then came back about a week later. I didn't think much of it at first until for some reason an STD came to mind. I got tested for STD/HIV and everything was negative. I was relieved but my mouth sores continued so I was still a little nervous about what was going on. I started feeling run down quite a bit (thought it was stress) then early Sept. I started getting pain in the middle abdomen right below my breast bone area and my throat started getting sore along with the mouth sores. My regular doc. sent me to an ENT and thought it was acid reflux so I took prilosec for a month and it seemed to go away but haven't taken it since and mid Sept. I started getting severe lower back pain moving into my hips and mild lower right abdomen pain. My abdomen pain is much more painful now and quite sharp at times for the last few weeks. I almost forgot. Over the last 3 months my stool has been very watery and thin (ribbon like) mostly. Noticed small patches of blood three times but not bad. My CBC, CMP and SED rate tests came back normal so far. They are doing more blood tests and abdominal/pelvic scan tomorrow and GI doc. said most likely a colon test. No wait loss.

Sorry to ramble but I'm nevous and curious if this sounds like Crohn's or if anyone knows what else this might be?

Sorry that you are in such physical distress, sounds like you have a whole myriad of things going on. The other members are right, without more tests there's no way to diagnose CD, it could be something else causing the symptoms. Good luck with your testing and your Dr's...stay strong!

Thanks a ton for the replys! My other blood tests came back normal. I don't recall exactly what they all were but two of them were the P-ANCA and ASCA and they were normal. I had a CT scan on Friday and hope to have the results today. Is it rare for these tests to come back normal and still have CD? Thanks again and I know I'm reaching but it helps me to talk and ask.

All of my tests are normal except for slightly elevated pANCA which no one thinks is significant. CT Scan, SBFT, 3 colonoscopies, rectal and colon biopsies, and an EGD (that took care of the stomach and beginning of the small intestine, it was a workup for celiac) over a 10 year period. I didn't even have any gi symptoms (Pain was my complaint) until about 3 years ago. Over the years I have had other symptoms such as mouth ulcers and inflammatory arthritis. My gi is calling it CD unspecified and treating me with Pentasa based on symptoms and response to the medication

To get my diagnosis of Crohn's I had the camera swallow test, which showed an ulcer in my small intestine, a Prometheus lab blood test (I don't know specifically what the blood test is called) which was positive for Crohn's, an EGD which was negative, a CT scan which showed thickening in the illeum, and a colonoscopy which on biopsy was positive for Crohns in the illeum. A year ago, I was hospitalized with a hematocrit of 7. At that time I had a colonoscopy, an EGD and barium swallow, all which were completely negative for disease. So they gave me iron by IV with no diagnosis. I think sometimes it takes awhile for things to show up on tests. In the summer I had horrenduous mouth ulcers which my internist misdiagnosed as a throat infection. She put me on three rounds of antibiotics, which I am convinced made my Crohn's flare and I got much worse. Keep at it with your doctor. If you don't find an answer, keep looking. If it weren't for my classical proctitis/colitis symptoms & signs in the early 90's I might still not know.
Dxing this DD can be very difficult..
But yes what you are describing does sound like CD in the stomach & upper GI tract. Get a GI ASAP..

Thanks for everyones support and comments. I've never been so nervous and I know I'm reaching but I have to ask.

I read that CD is manageable and most people live full productive lives. Is this true for most?
Also does anyone have experience with my type of symptoms and it's something else like stress or just ulcers or anything else they've heard of?
