OMG the pill bottle says No Alcohol!!!

Just got my bottle of 6MP and it says don't drink alcohol!!! Oh my people! I dont know about this now LOL! I needs my maragritas and I have to have my white wine a few times a week!
Come on your killin me here!

Does anyone else on 6MP drink still or not?

I hope no one is if it says not to...besides, alcohol is hard on the colon so you may want to consider that as well.

Never been on 6MP but I know a lot of CD drugs you shouldn't drink with.

Huh, it never said it before and I've been on and off this drug for a long time. I just checked my bottle and it says the same thing. I do know it's hard on the liver.

Im in methotrexate and I drink, its much different I assume. As well I take meds for bipolar and I drink with those when they say dont. I dont reccomend this. Also, when I say I drink, im talking like once or twice a month. .: )

I'd call the pharmacist. Mine is blunt about the difference between "it could have long term liver effects if you drink tooooo much on it" or "alcohol may increase the side effects" (hyosciaine) and "absolutly not a sip or you will vomit so much you want to die" (Flagyl). Hopefully if you ask yours which "category" this one falls into he or she will tell you.

You could cause yourself to go into acute renal failure if you drink while on those heavy duty meds.

Don't do it.

I was told the occasional glass of wine was ok, but I almost entirely avoided alcohol while on 6mp. No point risking it.

Yeah, you are smart! You never know how a person's body will react until its too late. Especially with all the other meds we put in our bodies every day! Well, I am speaking for myself and others who are on other meds. lol.

I was on 6mp for 3 years and I drank alcohol. I discussed with my Doctor first. They strongly suggested moderation. I'm still here. Now, I was more prone to hangovers from drinking smaller amounts. 6MP always made me a little more dehydrated anyway. So, like with anything, I'd say moderation is the key!

Thank you all for your replies! Thanks Jdian for your input...Thats what Im thinking...I take xanax sometimes for anxiety or if Im stressing...and If I have glass of wine on top of that...WHEEEE!!! that is a great moment! LOL

I do like a xanax/glass of wine combo! =o) I will say 6MP did decrease my tolerace to alcohol, so be careful with that too! Cheers!

I just came back from the pharmacy and have the paper that came with my 6mp. It says "drinking alcohol may increase the risk of stomach/esophageal irritation or liver damage. Limit alcoholic beverages."
