What diseases/illnesses you you suffer from? Let's take a poll!

Crohn's Colitis, IBS, GERD, PCOS, ITP (immuno thrombocytopenia purpura), kidney stones (but that's not a disease), lactose intolerant, gluten intolerance, Anxiety, Depression, weight gain from PCOS, tons of allergies.

These obviously aren't all diseases but they are issues that could correlate.

I probably missed some.

Hi I most definitely have the shopping disease as well as Crohns, arthritis, migraines, lactose and gluten intolerance, gallbladder probs, Ankylosing Spondylitis and strange bone growths. I'll be interested to see what others have here, womder if there is any connection.

Thought I'd post my 2 cents worth - tho over the years, it sure has cost me more than 2 cents!!

Crohn's finally diagnosed in 1979 - prior to that, diagnosed with erythema nodoseum on both calves, Mononeucleosis, Rheumatic Fever (all a part of the CD - once CD treated, those symptoms disappeared), appendectomy, several bowel resections, blood clot in  right calf, permanent ileostomy in 1984 - CD in remission since then, B12 injections biweekly, hysterectomy due to adhesions, TMJ surgery on both jaws to replace totally deteriorated cartilage and reform jaw sockets, gastric ulcer in stomach, osteoporosis but Forteo injection therapy worked like a charm, absorption issues resulting in Reclast IV, Vit D @ 50,000 IU weekly, osteocapsular arthroplasty performed yesterday on right shoulder.   WHEW!!!  That is a crazy list of ailments.  But to look at me, you'd never know I had any issues, OH with the exception that my arm is in a sling right now!!  Home therapy starts today and sling only as needed.  

 

IMO the above bone issues were probably caused by steroid drug therapy at a vey high dose at a young age.  Imuran, remicade, humira, asacol - none of those were around when my CD was active.  Just good ole prednisone and flagyl.  And believe it or not, last Oct was the first time I had to take Flagyl for an intestinal bug since the early 80's.  No prednisone since then either.  So you might have guessed by now, I'm not a young 'un.  I'm 46 but still pretty active.

 

So now it seems as tho I've shared my medical history.  I guess I'm not proud of it, but it is a part of me - take it or leave it!  And, I'm very fortunate that DH has decided to take it!   

I've been reading all your posts on this board and find the new treatments ya'all talk about very interesting.   Had they been around when my CD was active, maybe I would not have had to have a permenant ileostomy.  Just maybe.  But, again, it is a part of my life - I'll have to take it too!

Have a good weekend.  Last Nascar race on Sunday, last college FB games today.  Guess that means that Thanksgiving and Christmas are really just around the corner.

Crohns Disease, Scoliosis, Pyoderma Gangrensa, occasional Migraines, history of anemia... ..I am in recovery for the shopping disease, and I am proud to say I am 2 days clean :)

i was never ill until i was diagnosed with crohns grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr lol now i have asthma as well crohns has got a lot to anwser for and if your immune systems low with the methotrexate you catch all different viruses i hate this disease you never seem to be healthy with this disease

I was reading this thread and notice that you take both zoloft and tramadol. I thought tramadol was a no-no with zoloft because both cause increase in serotonin levels.

Oooh I forgot about migraines and gallbladder disease (well it's gone now). Too many to keep track of! LOL

Crohn's (was only in ileum til past Sx now it is crohns colitis with the lovely fistulas...ugh), kidney stones, asthma, ovarian cysts, allergies, oral allergy syndrome, arthritis, migraines, had to have gall bladder out and had inguinal hernia operation too...appendix was removed but that was cuz the doc's were there at the time not cuz it had to be removed, IBS, GERD, Several boughts of candida (oral and other), just got over VRE too. Part of my left lung is screwed up I dont get full capacity in that lung, cataracts, astigmatism, insomnia, osteopenia, anxiety, depression
