Epislceritis anyone??

I was curious if anyone here has ever had Episleritis of the eye before?  I have had it for months now and it keeps coming back even with Prednisone eye drops.

Yes, I have. For me, it seems to be strongly linked to my Crohn's - the worse I am, the worse the eyes are.

Very painful. Acular, which is an NSAID eye drop works for me. Yours much be MUCH worse if even the steroid eye drops aren't working. I know how painful mine is, so I hope you find something that works!

A girl "friended" me on myspace recently and is in the process of being diagnosed. She has what you have. Unless you are her I will try to get her to contact you!

I had that 2 years ago. It basically afflicted me for about 6 months. It would clear up and then come back again.  I went to a eye specialist who seemed to get it under control for me. I wear contact lenses and hate myself in glasses (so vain, i know) so it was a tough time for me.  I was the Matron of Honour at my cousins wedding that summer and I really wanted it cleared up for that. Luckily, my last flare up was 2 weeks before the wedding and all the red was gone for the pictures.

Hope you can get it under control. It really is so painful.

Thanks everyone!  It REALLY helps to know I am not alone!

I went to see my internist today and she said the Episcleritis can pretty much come and go whenever it wants to.  I did notice in the summer it was a lot worse than it is now and I was under a whole lot of stress over the summer.  She said stress can affect it as well. 

I hear you on the contact lenses!  I do not like my glasses that much and I have been unable to wear my contacts with this!  Oh well!  I don't think you are vain for not wanting to wear your glasses.  Honestly, if this keeps up, I am going to look into rimless glasses!

Actually, I probably am the girl from myspace!  lol  :-)
