I have pain in my knee joints all the time is there anything i can do for it???

Most of us see Rheumy doctors also. I would highly recommend you contact your GI or Primary Care doc and see if you can get a referral. Crohns related arthritis is very common.

Rheumatologist. A doctor who treats arthritis and other diseases of the joints, muscles and bones.

What do people do who live in an area that has no rheumatologist? We have no gastroenterologist, either. I guess we're on our own.

Hi nruth. I'm sorry to hear you have so few options in your area. I would suggest going to CCFA.org and look at their list of doctors who are members. CCFA can't endorse any one doctor, but chances are if the doctor is a member, they have at least a rudamentary understanding of the disease. Hopefully you can find on that isn't too far from you. Hello.  I also have joint pains.  Pain killers don't really help.  I recently had a corto steroid injection in my knee and it feels great!!  No pain for 5 weeks.  The shot hurt a bit, and it hurts worse for 12 hours or so.  But the next day was amazing.  Have had them in my lower back, and the first 2 worked for a few weeks, and after that they didn't help.  But so far so good with the knee. Thanks to those who replied to my post. I live on the southern Oregon coast, and the nearest GI is in Eugene...about 90 miles from here. I did used to see a GI there, but got so mad at him that I refuse to go back again. After my last "visit", when I had the nerve to ask him a question, and he replied" I'll ask the questions here"...I swore I'd never go back to him. Such a condescending person. I just sort of rely on my internist here to keep me going anymore. It's very frustrating. I seriously consider moving to an area with better medical options.

I had a jerk like that once i got rid of him and i heard he's retiring. I'm seeing a younger GI and he's great and much better at listening. I hope you get the luck i had with GI doctors.
