HI,
I have Crohn's colitis for the most part it has been in the large intestine with a little flare in the ileum. I have had a rough few months with a Pitutiary tumor removed months ago. I have no appetite, and lost a lot of weight, insomnia , sleepy groggy during the day, and just feel tired and hopeless. I recently noticed blood in my stool, and since my eyes are not what they use to be I wonder if it has been going on longer than I have noticed. I need a flashlight to see the blood. Somewhere between bright red and a bit darker, anyway it has been 2 and a half years since my last screen with many biopsies (I go to Mayo and they take a lot). My question is what do you guys think about the the odds of cancer? The stool are fromed, not much in the way of cramping mainly the blood and my other symptomes. Also wondering how long it takes to turn from dysplasia to frank cancer? Although I just read since they cant do every inch you could have dysplasia somehwere that wasn't biopsied and there you go. Not a perfect screening was the way the article read. I have pancolitis (crohn's colitis) for approx 30 years. I know that puts me in a higher risk for cancer, even though my disease has been pretty quite it doesn't matter just having it increases the risk.
I am taking Asacol, lexapro, ambien cr also ativan. I wonder if those meds are hard on the gut and would induce a flare. Do many of you have flares with blood only and no real stool increase or change. Once a day with blood on inspection with a long straw I noticed the blood flakes off like little particles that attached late in the processs. I also have a history of diverticulosis and diverticulitis. The bleeding could be from the divericula too I suppose. Thanks for reading I am freaking a bit if I felt better I may not have such panic.
