Crohn's Disease on show "private practice"

Hey all I was just watching the show "private practice" and it had a patient that ended up having crohn's disease. Unlike other medical shows that have used crohns or colitis as a diagnosis it actually made it sound like a ligit disease, and not some ailment that made the person seek narcotics and just complaining about a simple stomach ache. Although they made it sound impossible to diagnose despite numerous scans, etc it was still pretty well represented, and I was quite excited to watch this episode. But which episode has the Crohn's featured?? Down The Rabbit Hole? Finds A Shower Head? A Very Casual Get Together? Addison Finds the Magic? Addison, A Nice Girl Appears From Nowhere? Sam Receives An Unexpected Visitor?

I like the theme of that episode too... never giving up hope, always asking more, always wanting to know fully and make informed decisions... not just rely on what you are told.

Keep on learning everything you can about Crohn's Disease so that you are able to continue supporting and understanding your husbands disease. Although it is scary to think that your boys could also be diagnosed with Crohn's Disease because there chances are higher with your husband don't let the worry and anticipation eat you away. For example I am the only one in my family to have crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis, and I have also known people where all of the kids have crohn's, as well as a parent. It really varies from family to family and specifically person to person. In terms of him waiting a long time for a diagnosis, this is unfortunately normal for IBD. I wasn't diagnosed until 2003 when I was 18 years old, and looking back I had digestive issues (which were clearly crohns now) since I was 12 years old and just entering the 7th grade. It can take a long time to be diagnosed, and an even longer time to figure out the ideal mixture of medications and various therapies. I have used Asacol. Imuran, 6-MP, Remicade, Prednisone, Entecort, Cipro, Flagyl, Methotrexate, as well as natural remedies as well....needless to say all of my options have been retired and I had to have surgery this December. You click the link that Chronie8 provided and then "Launch Player" and follow instructions to install the plug. When the player launches you'll have a choice of which show to pick. Click on Private Practice and it will give you an option of which episode.

I'm currently watching the episode of 12/26 and haven't heard anything about Crohn's yet. It was about an athlete, a PTSD, and teenage pregnancy.

I found it. I think it was the episode on 12-20. Not bad but it didn't go into much detail. Evidently this is more a show about personal lives of the doctors and not much on a show about illnesses like House. Even that show focuses on finding the causes. The PP show seems to be pretty lame. They were able to discover that she had Crohn's in 5 minutes when multiple hospitals were saying the patient was psycho. At least someone believed her though and they were accurate with what happens when you have this "DD".
