I'm supposed to have my 1st loading dose of Humira on Wed, but I've had a dreadful cold and sinus problems..
Would it be best to cancel, or hope by Wed that there's an improvement? Thanks

You should not have Humira when you have a viral or bacterial infection - that includes a cold and sinus problems.

Hi Vicky,

Before starting Humira, tell your doctor if you have signs of an infection, such as a fever, cough, or flu-like symptoms. I would suggest you call your Dr. on Wednesday and report you sx before you start your treatments.

Thanks Kitt, I did read the hand book that came with my needles, and I knew I would probably have problem.
I'm a little scared about having this anyway, as I went into anaphylaxis with Remicade, so I'm a bit concerned.
Thanks for getting back so quick, especially on New Years Eve, Bless you....

When you call to ask about your sinus thing, ask them if you can go into the office for your loading dose so you'll feel safer. If not, at least make sure you do it when someone's at home with you. I'll be worrying about you until it's over.

please update us on how it went, my first dose is Thursday, and I havent even read the handbook, i couldnt get that little box thingie open and then i gave up. I've been doing that alot lately. I hope everything worked out. Ur in my prayers

Judy, I do have to go to the hospital for my first dose. I guess they are not taking any chances. I must admit I'm scared, the
Remicade incident keeps replaying over and over in my mind. Silly I know, but having your throat tighten and struggling to
breathe is scary. I am probably worrying for nothing. I'll let you all know how it goes.LOL.

Hi, just letting you guys know that I'm too sick with sinusitis to have my Humira. I have to call the hospital when I'm
completely better.
On a different note, woke up this morning with red swollen eyelids on one eye. It's feels hot to the touch as well. I.m
seeing my doc this pm, I'm hoping I have a case of blephritis, and not cellulitis brought on by sinusitis.
One day I will get better....

I hope you did cancel. I have had a cold for about a week now. I have my dose of humira more than average. I am supposed to give myself 1 shot each week. I was unable to use it on Friday due to this cold. Two days later I could feel the effects of not having it my joints were aching and the drainage from my fistula increased as did the pain associated with the fistula. As with Remicade you should never do the humira shot if sick since it can make things a lot worse

Hope you feel better soon... I unfortunately still have my cold went to my GP today and see my GI friday I hope by friday I can get my shot

The doc says I have acute sinusitis & a eye infection. I have to take Levaquin for the next 10 days, then I have to go back to get
clearance to have the loading dose. For me it's like a stay of execution!! You can tell I'm not looking forward to Humira.
Boy those antibiotics are expensive!!!
