As some of you may remember, I get my Humira for free through Abbott's Patient Assistance Program.
Well, last time they shipped me my refill (a three month supply that comes in a cooler and is shipped via overnight delivery) i forgot to bring it home with me from the office. Then, when I brought it home the next day, I did a double oops and forgot to put it right into the refrigerator. By the time I
opened the sealed cooler (packed with cold packs to keep the Humira at the right temp), it was no longer cold.
I was terrified since I knew it was only my fault. I really wasn't feeling good, so I decided to take the first dose anyway. I was really nervous, but it ended up being ok. (don't try it yourself!).
While nothing bad happened, like an allergic reaction, i don't think the Humira was working now that it had been left to spoil. I was completely distraught. But I called Abbott and they were very kind to replace the shipment, and I got it today! It would have cost me several thousand dollars to replace the medicine myself.
Just wanted to pass on the good news, sometimes good things can happen!
