So I've been having the urge to have a bowel movement usually when the food i've eaten makes me nauseas and crampy, but when i rush to the toliet nothing... nadda! Sometimes i make several trips to the bathroom with the urgent feeling of having to go, and nothing. Just wondering if I'm not alone in this...

It can happen. It's kind of like the "dry heaves" when you throw up but nothing comes out. I wouldn't know what to make of it, though, I imagine it is pretty annoying.

This is what's known as false urges, it can be quite common when dealing with proctitis (inflammation of the rectom from either crohns or UC)...this is also a symptom that IBSers get as well, with the exception that IBSers do not have inflammation...you should see your doc about it.

I agree with pb4, whenever I have inflammation in my rectum (which I have with most flare-ups), I have the constant urge to go, or when I do go, I feel as if I am not finished and nothing comes out. Many times I have had to take Colocort enemas to help settled down the urge and reduce the inflammation. Check with your doctor. I hope you feel better soon.

Really see my doctor? It's so funny now that i have this everything i used to shrug off i know have to make notes about and consider seeing doctors and stuff.... My crohn's is in the start of my small bowel the i something or other... But this is one of those things i make an appointment for? Now who do I see? My primary physician or my GI? thank you all for the info
