tapered pred and remicade

been off pred for about two weeks, hoping the two infusions of remicade would kick in but back to regular symptoms, cramping, several BM's, bloating and loss of appetite. I have lost the six pounds i gained on pred, after almost a year.....and am afraid i will go back to that sickly person i used to be. remicade is costing me too much money for it not to work.. how long before my body will start producing pred like steroids and get back to normal....?

I would not give up on Remicade yet. the reason they set the loading dose schedule as it is, is because trials showed that it the best at producing results. I did not get really good bowel response until after the third infusion. I had a good week following the 2nd infusion and then symptoms returned. Once I had the 3rd infusion, I saw tremendous improvement in my GI symptoms.

Hi, I would give the Remicade sometime. I have been on Remicade for almost 5 years and enjoying being in remission. you should see results after your 3 infusion.
