Hey fellow Crohnnies,

It's been awhile but I find myself in need of some help.  I'm waiting for a c/b from my GI with the complaint of stomach pain about 30-60 minutes after eating. mad   We spoke Friday and he put me on 20mgs of pred, but that hasn't made much of a dent in the discomfort.  I can still eat although the appetite is down and I've switched myself to a low residue diet voluntarily.  Had the big 'D' most of last week when it wasn't controlled with Imodium.  Today all of the output was actually normal.  No nausea, fever, vomiting.

This is a new symptom for me.  Anybody else have experience in this area?  What should I be expecting from the doc?

Is the pain in the stomach or abdomen? And if it is in the stomach, have they ever diagnosed CD in the stomach?

When I was in the throes of getting diagnosed, I would get horrendous stomach pains 30-45 minutes after eating. When they did an upper scope, they found my stomach lining was very inflamed and that I had several areas that had recently been bleeding. My GI said that my active TI Crohn's was causing thsi "backlash" in my stomach. They put me on Prevacid and the problem improved immediately.

Thanks Ides. You know I'm honestly not sure whether it's abdomen or stomach. I think I just say stomach out of habit. The pain is directly behind the belly button.

My disease is in the TI so you raise an interesting point.

I was told that Crohn's can affect the entire digestive track, from lips to anus, so stomach problems are not out of the question. My grandmother had ulcerative colitis, but she died of stomach cancer. I question if she had crohn's too or if the stomach is just where her cancer decided to pop up. There are many cases of cancer in our family, following her line.
