When & how to talk to new sup'v about my CD

Maybe you could try talking to your current supervisor, and seeing what he/she thinks. He may tell the new one when going over personnel files anyway. I've found its always better to be upfront about this stuff. And letting the new one know before there is a problem is always better than having to tell them from a cell phone call from the ER an hour after you were supposed to be at work. Most people are pretty understanding after all.

I think I'd keep it to myself until I got to know the new super. Unless and until you are taking sick time or days off and it's apparent you have a chronic illness. Because unfortunately some people are quick to judge. Njmom is right the current supervisor could be violating HR policy by talking about your condition.

I'm in the same boat - I haven't told my supervisor anything yet, and I think I'll hold off until it seems right. I don't want to be "labelled" if I can help it.

Do you have accomodations in place though your old supervisor? If so you should just give that super. permission to tell the new supervisor during training. I had to deal w/ that when working corrections. I just went in to the new guy and was like "hi, I just wanted to make sure you had been informed that due to my crohns disease I am never scheduled to work anywhere that I wouldn't have immediate bathroom access. I don't do the fence or 1 on 1's because of that. My doctor's note is on file. But I am more than happy to do any other job in the building." It worked out fine.

If you have any note on file or accomodations in place the old super. would not be breaking any rules by telling the new supervisor. It would be information the new super would need in order to schedule/deal with employees properly. I guess it depends on the line of work though.
