Does being on Prednisone make you more liekly to get sunburn? I am going to the dominican republic next week and someone said that to me today. I have lot so sunscreen already packed !

YES! You will be photosensitive and you will not get just a regular sunburn. It feels more like a chemical burn (not that I've ever had one of those), but it really stings and still hurts even after the redness is gone. My advice to you - put on TONS of sunblock - 50+ But have fun in the D.R.!!!

I confess to being a tanning person. The only Crohn's drug I've seen on their list (or noticed as making more sensitive) is Cipro. I've been on steroids for 7 out of the last 9 months and never had an issue tanning except with the Cipro. While on prednisone, I always freckled terribly on my face and burned easier. But I did enjoy the Dominican with some strong sun screen. I like the blue lizard stuff--sold in CVS. The resort we went to had plenty of shaded areas and umbrellas. Stayed hydrated--the air is warm and the food may be salty. HAVE A GREAT TIME!!

I know I had to curb my love for the sun this past summer due to Pred was out fishing on a hazy day and got burnt badly

Lotsa sunsceen and really try to enjoy your trip
