I have a form of anxiety disorder. I'm currently on Humira for Crohn's. Do any of you have any form of anxiety issues and/or depression? What meds do you take for it? I'm on the Humira and was prescribed antianxiety meds, but I'm scared to take them. I know the Humira is a lot of medication, and I don't want to take anything else if I can help it. Of course, I'm also tired of being so anxious all of the time.
My doctor said that the Humira is, "Toxic." I hated that word!

I am on Humira 40mg injection every week and Lexapro for anxiety/depression 10mg daily. The Humira is working wonders for me and even though I originally fought the Dr. about
the Lexapro...I now see why I need it and it has helped a whole lot too! All drugs are toxic if not taken within the parameters your Dr. prescribes. I say go for it!

I am taking both Humira and an anti anxiety med. They are totally different drugs so I don't worry about
them interacting with eachother. Or I didn't till you brought it up, thanks! LOL, just kidding. My GI knows all the meds I take and he knew when he prescribed me Humira so I don't think there should be any problem.

I just switched from Remicade to Humira. I take Cymbalta, it helped with my crohnic back pain. For me it's a blessing and I welcomed the help. Feeling better both physically and mentally is a big help for me in fighting this disease on a daily basis. Good luck with your decision. Maybe speak to the pharmacist and get some advice. Wishing you health!!

I have been taking 75mg. Effexor for a few years now and have been on Humira since Oct. 07...no problems whatsoever.

why doctors say any meds are "toxic" is beyond me.....it would seem that such a comment would negate any potential placebo effect....why not just say, these are "serious" medications, or something like that......

I am on Humira also for almost 2 years now. I am also a chronic pain patient due to fibromyalgia and inflammatory arthritis. I fought against depression and anxiety meds also when my pain management doctor prescribed them to me. I take Elavil for depression and xanax for anxiety. If truth be told I think they just help me to relax at bed time and settle my mind so that my pain medication can take effect and sleep will come. Prior to taking them I never slept more than just a few hours at a time, and the rest of my night was spent tossing and turning and wanting to crawl out of my body. I even had gone nearly 48 hrs without sleep. So, I guess for me it was the right solution. I still have one or two nights a month that are spent watching terrible TV all night long but nothing like it used to be.
