Dx. with a strep throat on Monday, now I have a rotten cold!! I've also got a cut on my hand that just wont heal.

Oh the joys of Humira....(but its still a good drug)

You'll need antibiotics for that strep throat...make sure you take a good probiotic at least 2 hours after you're done taking the antibiotics for the day...

For the cut that won't heal, put some honey on it and then a bandage, then after a day take the bandage off and gently rub extra virgine olive oil onto the cut...it will most definitely heal...the sooner you do this to it the better.

Drink chamomile tea with honey for your cold.

I started taking Probiotics and even my doctor agreed that it couldn't hurt. I suggest you try them and see if they make a difference. I took antibiotics for a terrible upper respitory infection and then got C Diff. Had I been taking Probiotics then I would have prevented this. So they are worth the trouble. I also found some that are Lactose free. Best wishes for good health. Please take care of yourself!!! HUGS

so sorry you are sick. I have been there too... I got the flu not too long ago and I was just miserable. I hope you feel better soon! Karen

Hi guys, the cold is much worse, so I'm pretty miserable.

Pb, I was given amoxicillin 875mg for the strep throat. The pockets of pus has cleared, but my throat still sore. I very rarely
get this kind of illnesses. So I think It's a mixture of having a 2 year old running around my house a couple of days a week &
the Humira.

Oh well I'll get there eventually....

try gargeling with salt water every couple hours. I get strep every year and this usually helps with the soreness

funny thing, even I am having problems from crohns and chronic pain, I have not had a cold or flu in years. Not sure why, my guess is that I don't venture out much and I use those waterless hand sanitizers lots, hope things get better.

Last November I had a kidney infection and was put on antibiotics, I called my prescribing physician of Humira and was told do not take any more injections for two weeks after the antibiotics were gone. Maybe you should ask your doc also about waiting to continue your Humira. Just a thought. Would hate to see your infection(s) get any worse before better.

52 days on antibiotics to treat a sinus infection and I don't even take humira or one of the biologics just plaquinel and pred. My PCP did not want to treat me anymore she kept asking what does your rhuemy say about treating infections when your immune comprimised.

Maybe you should rub honey and olive oil on the 2 year old! Those 2 yr olds are cesspools of germs(very cute ones of course!)

Yep, so cute he swells your heart, but he's now moving into the terrible 2's, and Grandma is having to give him time
out in his naughty chair. So far it's working, but how long for LOL....
